Round 1 lost to Armstrong Cooper in 6 (!) Overtimes! The game took 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Round 2 lost to Roseville to end their playoff experience


12UB - Seed #4 out of 9 teams
Round 1:  WON their 1st game against Highland in Overtime
Round 2:  Lost their 2nd game against Tartan
Round 3:  WON their 3rd game against Como which puts them in the top 4 teams
Round 4:  Lost their 4th game to end their playoff experience

Boys

Bantam A - Seed #2 out of 4 teams - Heading to East Region Tournament
Round 1: WON against Highland
Round 2:  Lost against Mpls Park
Round 3:  WON against Highland to win 2nd Place Champion and Regional appearance!

Fund Raising Ideas Submission Time:

Everyone - if you have an idea for a fund raiser for our association please complete the following form.  We are looking for ideas AND people willing to lead the efforts.

The fund raising committee will accept ideas submissions through the end of March.

We will meet in April and work to set a fund raising plan for the 2010/2011 season. If you have any questions please contact any member of the fund raising committee at

Congratulations to former IYHA players Jimmy Gjere and Gina McDonald on signing their letters of intent.

Jimmy signed to play football with the University of Minnesota

Gina signed to play hockey with Harvard University

All,

Minnesota Hockey took a vote last weekend and is shutting down District 1 as a competitive organization. They did vote to allow us to move to District 10. District 10 took a vote Monday night. WE ARE IN DISTRICT10!!!

This is very exciting news for us as an association. This is great because we will be approx number 10 out of 17 associations in size by last year's numbers. Every league game is going to count for something and there will be a lot of them. There were over 500 D10 games at the Super Rink this season and throw in Fogerty and Centennial Arenas and we will have ALOT of games close to home. Plenty of competition up and down the ranks on both the boys and girls side. This is going to be a fun and exciting adventure.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, with the end of District 1 approaching it is no time like the present to crank up expectations of our players, coaches, and parents to put on a dazzling display at Districts, Regions and State at EVERY level. It would be great if we could raise a few more banners in the last year of District 1 as we know it. We have talked about raising expectations and this year I believe the bar has been raised but we still have a long way to go. The players want to get competitive, lets give them this opportunity to play with their friends and COMPETE.

We will need to fulfill all of our responsibilities to District 1. There will be a few more opportunities to get in your volunteer hours. Please remember to record your volunteer hours online.

Finally, we are forming a Nominating Committee to help with the upcoming elections. We have a few Board positions that will be opening up. We are going to need a lot of help through this transition to District 10. PLEASE, consider where your skills can help us as an organization and lend a hand. It is a very rewarding experience.

Be the Irondale Youth Hockey Webmaster!  It is easy and rewarding.  The time committment is up to you.  You will be trained by the current website administrator.

FSN is sending a camera crew to film our Knights!

Celebrate Minnesota Hockey Day 2010, Irondale Style!

For Hockey Day 2010 Irondale players playied an outdoor game on Long Lake at the Squirt C Coach Phil Herbert's rink. It was a joint event with the PeeWee & Squirt Cs with the Dark Jersey team including all players living south of Long Lake and the White team including all players living North of the lake.

The South Team took home the "win" over the North Team although everyone won during this awesome event.  Even the unusual weather let up for the game and was not much of a factor.

Fox Sports News sent camera crew and it was watched at Moe's of Mounds View where the Boys High School team was finishing up their pancake breakfast/silent auction fundraiser.
